Welcome to Laboratory of Ploidy Pathology

Welcome to the website of the Laboratory of Ploidy Pathology at the Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences, The University of Osaka.

As a laboratory specializing in cellular ploidy, we are conducting research with the aim of elucidating the relationship between polyploidy and disease, and developing new medical treatments that target ploidy.

We held a cherry blossom viewing party to welcome our new members.

With the start of the new academic year, many new members have joined our laboratory!

We are also planning to launch new projects. As a team, all lab members will work together and do our very best!

March 28–29, 2026

Matsumoto gave a presentation at the symposium organized by the AMED/U.S.–Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP), held at the National Cancer Center in Tokyo. Many of the latest findings on p53 were presented, making it a highly informative and valuable experience.

December 4, 2025

At the 48th Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan held in Yokohama, Matsumoto served as both the chair and a presenter in the symposium “Impacts of Chromosomal Diversity.” The discussions throughout the entire session were very active, making it a highly meaningful event!
