Welcome to the website of the Laboratory of Ploidy Pathology at the Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences, The University of Osaka.
As a laboratory specializing in cellular ploidy, we are conducting research with the aim of elucidating the relationship between polyploidy and disease, and developing new medical treatments that target ploidy.

September 25-27, 2025
Matsumoto, Nagata, and Ogawa gave presentations at the 84th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cancer Association held in Kanazawa. Great job, everyone. All presentations were really well received!

The October 2025 issue of Experimental Medicine has been published, featuring a special topic, Emerging Insights into the Relationship between Genome Ploidy and Cancer. Matsumoto contributed a part of this issue and hopes that genome ploidy will attract increasing attention!

This is a collaborative study with Dr. Matsuura from the Department of Gastroenterology at Kobe University, Dr. Abe (formerly a medical student at Osaka University, now a resident), and Dr. Niioka from the Institute of Data-Driven Innovation at Kyushu University.
