Welcome to Laboratory of Ploidy Pathology
Welcome to the website of the Laboratory of Ploidy Pathology at the Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences, The University of Osaka.
As a laboratory specializing in cellular ploidy, we are conducting research with the aim of elucidating the relationship between polyploidy and disease, and developing new medical treatments that target ploidy.

What's New
June 28–30, 2026
Kitano presented a poster at The 9th JCA-AACR Special Joint Conference: Novel Therapies and Diagnostics in Upper Digestive and Head and Neck Cancers, held at the Kyoto Tokyu Hotel. It was a highly rewarding meeting with many opportunities for stimulating discussions with researchers from various fields.
May 31 – June 3, 2026
Matsumoto gave a presentation at the International Symposium on Chromosome Dynamics: from Structure to Cellular Function, held in Awaji, Japan. It was a very informative meeting with lively and engaging discussions.

A paper by Harada-kun (currently in the Division of Gastroenterology, Kobe University) has been published in Cellular and Molecular Gastroenterology and Hepatology!
This is an impressive piece of work that he completed while continuing his clinical practice at Kobe University after finishing graduate school. Congratulations!

Matsumoto gave a presentation at the symposium organized by the AMED/U.S.–Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP), held at the National Cancer Center in Tokyo. Many of the latest findings on p53 were presented, making it a highly informative and valuable experience.
