Hayashi-kun's paper was published in Cell Death Discovery.

The paper reveals that polyploidization promotes the accumulation of genomic damage while mitigating its impact. This can be one of the mechansms of cancer evolution, and polyploid cells can be a source of cancer development and treatment resistance.
